Belmond has announced the launch of the Britannic Explorer, the first luxury sleeper train in England and Wales, set to commence operations in July 2025. Departing from London, the train will offer three-night journeys through Cornwall, the Lake District, and Wales, allowing passengers to experience the rich cultural and natural beauty of these regions. The train features 18 elegantly designed cabins, including 15 suites and three grand suites, all crafted to provide a sophisticated and comfortable travel experience. Interiors, designed by London-based studio Albion Nord, draw inspiration from Britain's natural landscapes, creating a serene and vibrant atmosphere on board.
Culinary offerings on the Britannic Explorer will be overseen by renowned Chef Simon Rogan, celebrated for his commitment to sustainable, farm-to-fork dining. Menus will highlight seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, reflecting the diverse culinary heritage of the regions traversed. Additional amenities include an on-board wellness suite offering relaxing therapies and a bar inspired by Victorian apothecaries, serving botanically infused cocktails. Tickets for this exclusive travel experience start at approximately $14,000 per passenger for a three-night journey, inclusive of excursions, meals, and beverages. The Britannic Explorer aims to redefine luxury rail travel in the UK, providing unparalleled access to some of the nation's most iconic destinations.
