August is National Black Business Month, a reminder in which Black-owned enterprises in the United States and around the world are acknowledged and supported. Amazon, which generates more than 60% of its revenue from independent vendors, is capitalizing on this opportunity to underscore its ongoing dedication to Black entrepreneurs. Amazon offers critical resources to Black-owned businesses in order to facilitate their success on its platform, such as the Black Business Accelerator (BBA). This encompasses financial credits, access to Amazon Ads, and participation in the BBA Amplify program, which equips businesses to handle high-velocity events such as Prime Day. Amazon has established a Black Business Month storefront to further elevate these businesses, providing consumers with a convenient method of discovering and supporting Black-owned brands throughout the year.
Amazon's commitment to assisting Black-owned enterprises is not limited to financial support. In order to enhance and broaden its support systems, the organization consistently solicits input from Black entrepreneurs and industry executives. Entrepreneurs at all phases can access educational resources through programs such as the Amazon Small Business Academy and the This is Small Business podcast. Furthermore, Amazon's dedication to the advancement of Black-owned businesses on a global scale is further emphasized by its community-building initiatives, which include partnerships with Black entrepreneurial organizations and participation in events such as the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Annual Legislative Conference.
