American Airlines has introduced several enhancements to its AAdvantage program, aiming to offer a more rewarding experience for its loyal members. Effective this summer, AAdvantage members can now redeem miles for inflight Wi-Fi sessions on Viasat-equipped aircraft, with the feature expanding to all such aircraft by fall. Additionally, members can standby for earlier flights free of charge via the mobile app or website and enjoy a six-month extension to use Trip Credit compared to non-members. Members also have the option to cancel non-refundable Basic Economy tickets for a partial trip credit and can purchase a Flagship Lounge single-visit pass for $150 or 15,000 miles.
Looking ahead, American Airlines will soon allow members to earn miles for cash seat upgrades and redeem miles for exclusive AAdvantage Events experiences. Select status members will have the opportunity to use miles for access to the Flagship First Dining lounge. In its commitment to enhancing onboard comfort, American Airlines has rolled out new bedding, pillows, and dining options on long-haul and transcontinental flights. The airline is also expanding its high-speed Wi-Fi service, with over 100 regional aircraft expected to be equipped by the end of the year and a total of nearly 500 by 2025.
