Aqua Expeditions, known for its luxury small-ship expeditions, is set to expand its fleet with a sixth vessel, marking its debut in East Africa. Supported by financing from the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, the new ship will offer immersive itineraries exploring the Seychelles and Tanzanian islands starting in December 2025. Guests can choose from five- and nine-night trips through Seychelles’ inner and outer islands or combine them for a 14-night journey. Additionally, 10- and 11-night sailings will include both Seychelles and Tanzania, giving travelers the opportunity to explore unique biodiversity hotspots such as Aldabra Atoll, Cosmoledo, and Pemba.
Founded in 2007, Aqua Expeditions has grown from a single vessel in the Peruvian Amazon to a fleet that now sails to eight destinations worldwide. With a focus on both luxury and sustainability, Aqua Expeditions aims to provide exclusive, off-the-beaten-path experiences. The African expansion, according to CEO Francesco Galli Zugaro, fulfills a long-held dream of showcasing East Africa's beauty and rich history. Highlights of these new voyages will include encounters with giant tortoises on Aldabra, visits to historically significant sites, and the exploration of some of the world’s most pristine marine environments.
