Aspen Meadows Resort in Aspen, CO, has officially announced its partnership with the Salamander Collection brand, with Salamander managing the property since 2022. This collaboration has led to the completion of the latest renovation work, coinciding with the property's relaunch under the Salamander Collection umbrella and in tandem with the Aspen Institute, the resort's owner.
Just in time for the ski season, the property showcases the revamped West End Social restaurant, along with a new reception area and bar. Sheila Johnson, founder and CEO of Salamander Collection, emphasizes the brand's goal to establish a personal connection with guests, aiming for each property to feel like a home. The enhancements mark the culmination of collaborative efforts between the Salamander Collection and the Aspen Institute, elevating the unique charm of Aspen Meadows.
Situated on 40 acres, the resort's 98 guest suites underwent renovations, complementing the opening of the newly constructed Resnick Center for Herbert Bayer Studies and the restoration of the historic Boettcher Building, both integral parts of the resort's grounds.
The redesign of the restaurant and bar was entrusted to Bentel & Bentel, drawing inspiration from Herbert Bayer, the artist, sculptor, and architect responsible for the campus's Bauhaus-style design between 1953 and 1973. The design company at West End Social unveiled a brand-new double-sided glass wine rack, and it plans to add more lighting fixtures in the spring that draw inspiration from Bayer's artwork. The bar focuses on a brick wall and fireplace as central design elements, while Colorado marble from the Roaring Fork Valley enhances the stone elements in both the restaurant and bar.
Sheila Johnson expressed excitement about the collaboration, emphasizing the intention to connect with guests on a personal level. The relaunch of Aspen Meadows Resort under the Salamander Collection brand aims to welcome both new and returning guests to experience the transformative improvements that showcase the essence of Aspen Meadows.
