Bally’s Corporation has unveiled an updated site plan for its Chicago Casino project, featuring a single-phase construction of a 500-room, 34-story hotel tower on the former Tribune Publishing site at 777 W. Chicago Avenue. Pending approval from the Chicago Department of Planning and Development, the new plan integrates the hotel tower at the southern end of the development, alongside amenities including a large pool spa, fitness center, sun deck, and rooftop restaurant bar. The project also includes a 3,000-seat theater, dining venues, and a two-acre public park. The $940 million construction financing, provided by Gaming and Leisure Properties, will support the full-scale development.
Bally’s Corporation, a prominent global casino and entertainment company, is advancing its plans with support from the Chicago Community Builders Collective for construction and HKS for design. The updated site plan addresses earlier design adjustments and unforeseen infrastructure issues, aiming for a September 2026 opening. The development is set to create around 6,000 jobs and significantly enhance Chicago's riverfront. Bally’s, which owns and manages multiple casinos and interactive gaming platforms, will expand its portfolio with this major project.
