Fort Worth welcomes the Bowie House hotel, one of its newest and most opulent additions, officially opening its doors on Camp Bowie Boulevard. The four-story luxury hotel, part of the esteemed Auberge Resorts Collection, boasts 88 studio rooms, 12 lofts, and six suites, including an expansive 2,250-square-foot signature suite with a starting rate of $6,000 per night.
While rooms generally begin at $650 per night, the hotel is currently offering a limited-time 25% discount promotion, making this luxurious experience more accessible for early visitors. The Auberge Resorts Collection, renowned for its portfolio of 26 luxury resorts and 89 restaurants across the U.S., Europe, and Central America, has added Bowie House as its second property in Texas, following Commodore Perry Estate in Austin.
Jo Ellard, the visionary owner of Bowie House, shared insights into the hotel's origin and development. Ellard, who was the youngest person ever inducted into the National Cutting Horse Association’s Member Hall of Fame, decided to venture into hospitality after her friend's success with a boutique hotel in Mississippi. Following the successful opening of Dickies Arena in 2019, the decision to renovate the commercial property on Camp Bowie Boulevard was impulsive and resulted from the realization that Fort Worth needed a top-notch hotel.
Bowie House's design and layout were fine-tuned with the assistance of Auberge, resulting in a perfect blend of time-honored and contemporary elements. The hotel offers a variety of accommodations, from cozy lofts to the grand signature suite, with an "equestrian thread" running through its design, featuring motifs like leather and cowhide furniture. Bowie House aims to capture the essence of Fort Worth, respecting its Western culture while embracing modernity.
The hotel has not been without its share of controversies, especially during its presentation to city leaders in 2020. Concerns about traffic and the project's scale led to multiple discussions with surrounding neighborhoods to address issues and preserve the neighborhood's historic value. Ellard ensured that the project, including seven townhomes under construction, would contribute positively to the community.
Bowie House sets the tone for future developments along Camp Bowie Boulevard, providing Fort Worth with a commercial boost and a world-class hospitality experience. The hotel features a pool terrace, nature courtyard, game room, library, meeting spaces, spa, and three dining options. Bricks and Horses, the signature restaurant, promises to be a contemporary chophouse specializing in dry-aged local beef, while The Bar at Bowie House and Whinny’s offer varied culinary experiences.
With its spa, Ash, offering an array of services, more than 10,000 square feet of event space, and an exclusive ambiance, Bowie House aims to position Fort Worth on the global hospitality map. General Manager Gaylord Lamy expressed excitement about welcoming guests and contributing to the vibrant cultural landscape of Fort Worth.
Bowie House joins the recently opened Crescent Fort Worth, solidifying the city's position in the global hospitality market. These developments, according to Ellard, create options and opportunities that were previously unavailable, opening Fort Worth to a broader audience of leisure travelers and showcasing its unique attractions. The hotel isn't just luxurious accommodation; it symbolizes Fort Worth's cultural pride, blending tradition with a modern and distinctive identity.
