In a country where being meticulous is par for the course, the Four Seasons took extra pains to ensure it had the right leader for it Tokyo location. The hotel appointed Andrew De Brito as the opening General Manager of the new Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi, which is slated to open in mid 2020.
De Brito was most recently General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Beijing. “Paired with our boutique-style hotel in Marunouchi, Four Seasons in Otemachi will define the utmost in welcoming yet ultimately luxurious hospitality in the city,” says De Brito. “I am particularly excited about the food and beverage program, which will include two signature restaurants, two lounges, and a destination bar unlike anything in Tokyo today.”
Andrew is a company veteran and has learned the ropes in many different countries in cultures. He first joined Four Seasons in 1992 in his home country of Malaysia at the Regent Kuala Lumpur (formerly a Four Seasons hotel). Emanating from his keen interest in food and beverage, he began building a successful career holding leadership positions in the company’s hotels and resorts in Aviara, the Maldives, Langkawi, Mumbai, Shanghai and Jakarta before ultimately being tapped as General Manager in Beijing in 2015. There, he not only positioned the Hotel’s restaurants at the top of the city’s restaurant scene, he was the driving force behind an acclaimed artist-in-residence program.
