Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, is set to enhance its culinary offerings with the introduction of Nobu, the renowned Japanese restaurant concept created by chef Nobu Matsuhisa and actor Robert De Niro. Scheduled to open in summer 2025, Nobu at Grand Wailea will be part of a significant $350 million renovation led by Blackstone Real Estate. This marks Nobu’s debut on Maui, promising to elevate the island's luxury dining scene. With 13,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor eating space, a dedicated sushi bar, and a breathtaking view of the ocean, the new restaurant will serve distinctive dishes including Yellowtail Jalapeño and Black Cod with Miso.
The arrival of Nobu coincides with other recent additions to the resort's culinary landscape, including Olivine, which debuted in June 2023, offering handmade pastas and seasonal dishes that incorporate local Hawaiian ingredients. With its reopening in 2023, the resort's signature restaurant, Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa, also adds to the diverse dining options available to guests. This collaboration is anticipated to further enrich the exceptional experiences offered at Grand Wailea, solidifying its reputation as a premier destination for luxury and culinary excellence in Hawaii.
