Nobu can be considered a newcomer to the hotel industry as it was just in 2013 that Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper got together to found the company. Since then the now hotel chain has grown to multiple locations in Las Vegas, Manila, Miami Beach, Malibu, London, Ibiza and Palo Alto.
Recently, Nobu announced the opening of its Chicago location targeted for May 2020. Of course, it’s restaurants are taking main stage including Nobu on the Roof which includes an indoor bar and outdoor terrace. There is also a 10,000 square-foot signature restaurant. The hotel is set to have 115 rooms and suites across 11 stories with a décor that infuses Japanese elegance and simplicity.
Other Nobu Hotels are in development for Barcelona, Marbella, Riyadh, Los Cabos, Chicago, Toronto, São Paulo, Tel Aviv and Atlanta. Nobu is strategically focused on further expanding its global portfolio of hotels through a solid development pipeline.
Nobu, whose full name is Nobuyuki Matsuhisa is a Japanese celebrity chef and restaurateur who made his mark with fusion cuisine blending traditional Japanese dishes with Peruvian ingredients. Perhaps his most well-known dish is black cod in miso. He has restaurants across several countries bearing his name.
