Rosewood Hotel Group has unveiled plans to rebrand the existing Blue Palace site on the Greek island of Crete as the luxurious Rosewood Blue Palace. The transformation is scheduled for completion in Q2 2025 and will embody Rosewood's "a sense of place" philosophy, drawing inspiration from the elegance of the Greek Islands.
Situated between the fishing village of Plaka and the port of Elounda, Rosewood Blue Palace will seamlessly integrate into the hillside landscape, offering breathtaking views of a private beach. The resort will feature 154 rooms and suites, with 85 of them boasting private pools. Grecian firm K-Studio will be responsible for the resort's interior design, infused with Cretan tradition and identity.
Renowned Greek-born, London-based interior designer Afroditi Krassa will enhance the resort's culinary program by creating spaces for its six restaurants and bars. The dining offerings will include specialty restaurants, a beach club, an all-day restaurant sourcing fresh produce from local purveyors, and an on-site organic garden.
Rosewood Blue Palace will also prioritize wellness, incorporating Rosewood's holistic well-being concept, Asaya. The resort will feature a fitness center, movement studio, yoga pavilion, and dedicated areas for hydrotherapy treatments. Three outdoor pools with panoramic ocean views, catering to adults and children, will further enhance the guest experience.
Sonia Cheng, CEO of Rosewood Hotel Group, expressed excitement about entering Greece with this stunning resort, emphasizing Crete's ideal location for meaningful connections that bring guests closer to the soul of the destination.
Agapi and Costantza Sbokou, co-CEOs of Phāea, the company behind Blue Palace, shared their enthusiasm for the collaboration with Rosewood. They see Rosewood's commitment to preserving the essence of each destination aligning seamlessly with their vision for the resort.
Rosewood Blue Palace will join a distinguished collection of European properties, including Rosewood London, Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel, Rosewood Villa Magna, Rosewood Vienna, and Rosewood Munich. The new addition signifies Rosewood's dedication to expanding its European presence, with Rosewood Amsterdam, Rosewood Schloss Fuschl in Austria, and Rosewood Rome Via Vittorio in Italy set to open in the coming year.
