Royal Caribbean International revealed details about its latest Icon Class ship, Star of the Seas, which was set to sail from Florida's Port Canaveral in August 2025. The ship, a sibling to the world’s largest cruise ship, Icon of the Seas, will carry 5,610 guests on seven-night Caribbean cruises, visiting destinations such as Basseterre, St. Kitts, Cozumel, Mexico, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Each itinerary will include a stop at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. The vessel will feature many familiar spaces from Icon, including the Category 6 water park, AquaDome, and the adults-only Hideaway pool, along with over 40 dining and beverage options.
Star of the Seas has introduced new features, including the 1930s Chicago-inspired Lincoln Park Supper Club and an expanded Surfside neighborhood catering to a broader age range of children. Technological innovations like a waterproof bracelet for tracking children and facial-recognition stateroom doors will be piloted on board. As Royal Caribbean continues to evolve its offerings, the company aims to build on the success of Icon, delivering a premier family vacation experience that aligns with its growing fleet of advanced cruise ships.
