Los Angeles, CA Series: A Landmark Stay in the Heart of Beverly Hills

Lodge & Dine awarded the Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel, a 4.5-star rating. The property remains a landmark in Beverly Hills, offering long-standing character and a central, highly walkable location.

At the corner of Wilshire and Rodeo, the hotel sits in the middle of Beverly Hills’ main retail corridor. Designer storefronts and nearby restaurants are easily reached on foot, making it possible to move around the area without relying on a car. For anyone looking to bypass the usual snarl of Westside traffic, being able to step out the front door and simply walk to dinner is a practical win.

The lobby retains its original 1928 proportions, giving the space a sense of scale and permanence that newer hotels often lack. Outside, the Mediterranean-style pool area provides a quieter counterpoint, while the gym stands out for its size and layout, spread across two floors and better equipped than most older properties.

Inside, rooms are large, with layouts that separate living and sleeping areas and make the stay feel more private and functional. Views out over the porte-cochère or Rodeo Drive feel very much like the classic Beverly Hills experience.

During the stay, however, some maintenance issues stood out. A crooked TV monitor and an inactive electrical outlet were minor but noticeable. More concerning was a visible opening in the wall near the toilet, which disrupted the otherwise polished marble bathroom. Housekeeping also showed some inconsistency, leaving crumbs on a table during daily service.

Dining on-site centers around theBLVD, which overlooks the intersection of Wilshire and Rodeo. The restaurant offers an efficient breakfast service and a dinner menu that draws a mix of hotel guests and local business traffic. The property also includes CUT by Wolfgang Puck, a modern steakhouse, and the Pool Bar & Cafe, a more casual outdoor option near the pool deck.

The spa on the premises is a Forbes Five-Star facility, with features including a eucalyptus steam room and “experience showers.” It is well executed without feeling overly formal and adds depth to the hotel’s focus on high-end wellness.

Across the property, interactions with staff were consistent and professional. The team appeared well trained and capable of handling the pace of a high-occupancy luxury hotel.

Overall, The Beverly Wilshire stands out for its historic presence and prime location. While maintenance needs tightening, those strengths still make it a dependable choice.
